I've got a bike. You can ride it if you like.

Last night we witnessed something incredible. A wall of lights on the road heading towards us. As it got closer we realised it was a gang of bikers. Push-bikers! They entered the roundabout with their headlights and tail lights flashing, going round and round and round. And they had music! Some mad tunes pumping from speakers attached to an old man's bike. It was really something amazing.

I want to be a part of something like that. I think we should start a bike club.

Winter Tones

wow micheal jackson is 50 today.
thats pretty special. mad prawppps for him and to his face for not having melted of by now.

Well anyhoo, last Friday saw us greeted to the massive line as we stepped around the corner of the quaint alleyway of Roxanne Parlor for Wintertones.
With the superb line up presented by mistletoe,  which included bands such as,  Bachelorette (NZ), Love Of Diagrams, Kes Band, Beaches, CRAYON FIELDS! and headliners Beach House (USA).
Unfortunately having got there just in time to reach the final 2 seconds of crayon fields was a disappointment, soon all was forgotten when love of diagrams graced the stage, providing in what some may disagree, but a Melbourne version of sonic youth. The mellow and  laid back  atmosphere for the night was defiantly something to be enjoyed, and if there was an occasion that called for such a time, it was at winter tones.
So  having come back from a smoke downstairs and perhaps in a much more suited mood, we headed over to be greeted by the perfectly labelled "dream pop" and soft tones,  of  beachhouse .  Even from standing behind a pole, the voice of Victoria Legrand- mild, whispery yet smooth was enough to send shivers up your spine. Or in our case to send us to sleep. not in a bad way, like of boredom and shit, but in a good way. you know that good kinda falling asleep.
We also care to thank those lovely couple dancing in the snowflake room for providing us with many hours of entertainment. it was swell.

music is my radar

so ive been thinking about music a lot lately, and exactly what it means to me.
its always been one of my main drivers.
i seem to work to earn money to buy cd's and tickets to gigs.
and now writing and making music is a new hobby.

ive realised that my favourite moments, biggest regret and most exciting future plans are all music related.
...like watching Brand New at billboard on 7/6/07. when jesse lacey sang one of my favourite songs ever, a little accoustic demo; Untitled 1!! so unexpected, and so truly amazing!
...and almost being moved to tears on 29/10/07 upstairs at the forum when Sigur Ros performed Untitled 4 (njósnavélin / the nothing song). that moment around 4:50-5 mins that takes my breath away on the record... to hear it live... wow! i think my heart stopped for those 10 seconds.
and pretty much my dream is to go to europe in june/july one year for a massive festival season bender. and also get to coachella in the US one year.
oh and i'd have to say my biggest regret is getting really drunk on 29/12/07! the night of Nyssa's birthday party, and also the night of Built to Spill at the corner. i was so absolutely maggotted that i completely missed support act The Crayon Fields whom i love!!! and i cant even remember 1/4 of Built to Spill's set! actually, less than that. i remember singing along, but i dont know what songs i was singing!? haha. bad badd badddd.

buttt... now i have the chance to rectify a part of this regret! i am going to see The Crayon Fields tonight as part of the Wintertones mini-festival, also featuring Love of Diagrams, Kes Band, Beaches, Qua, Beach House etc etc.
this should be a fantastic gig! i am well and truly excited!! fuckcunt is going POP for the evening =)

Im a model! I do whatever the FUCK I want!

This is a picture Lilo drew on Saturday depicting Damo.
It inspired me to post this blog...

So a few months back I had a 'photo shoot' with Rikki and Damo.
All the cool kids were getting photos up on my rooftop, so we decided to jump on that bandwagon and get a few photos ourselves.
Damo has a sexy face. He is going to model school.
its true he is..........( from mills)
Clearly we are all model material. =P
And clearly we are about as intelligent as models too haha.

And here's a couple from another occasion...
props go to mr daniel sha-sheeeeee cos he is a PrO ass!
Dime dime dime dime.

Peace to the world. Support the Olympics. See you later

These were the words said by lead singer Jack Barnett of These New Puritans as they left the stage at Prince on Thursday night.
They were a joy to watch! Some mad strobe light action going on forr sure!!
It was one of those gigs where I wish I wasn't so damn tired and sick!! I would have been dancing around like a mad bitch. Yeahh.

First support Bachelor of Arts were also a joy. As always!
Talented attractive people make me happy.
And these guys definitely fit that description!

Young and Restless were up next. I'm not really a fan... but they were better than I remembered so I will give them props for that.
Tori seemed to enjoy them a lot, so maybe they just aren't my thing?

Anywho... These New Puritans made me happy.
They played every song I wanted to hear, and threw in a couple of new ones for good measure.
Highlights would have to be Elvis, Infinity Ytinifni and En Papier.
I wasn't overly impressed with Swords of Truth live, even though it would definitely be my favourite off the album. It just didn't quite sound quite right. The 'horns' were sampled and just weren't loud enough for my liking. Or something.
Anyway, all-in-all a great show!

stab a motherfucker

ahh sunday brews. beers were smashed as usual. it was swell.
on our way home, we noticed these lights on the wall. it was also pretty swell cos it kept changing.
in front of the wall we also realized this crazy pig on a pole. the realized we don't actually notice half the stuff around the city, even tho we are pretty much here every day. but melbourne is pretty rad.
i thought as long as we are doing shit tourist photos, we need to get a picture of starbucks. it looked warm.
those darn tourist
we found these crazy dudes. it was dark. then when we took their picture their scary faces came up. its fucked. as if they put this stuff in the middle of the street. they look like fucking zombies
we found this escalator. there was some crazy pop music playing so we decided to go upstairs
i'm pretty shit.
we saw this as the perfect opportunity for one of those classic  mirror shots. there were lots of mirrors.
we got up stairs. there was some crazy pop music. it was catchy. there were also heaps of vending machine games. and it was really really white.
then we saw these sweet kicks.
we thought we needed some more shit tourist photos.
this one is pretty epic. i dont know what it was but what they hey
this place reminded us of some sorta mushroom land.
it had some fucking green grass, then we came to a conclusion it was like alice in wonderland.
we found this rad door.  i think we spent like 5 hours just trying to jump of the step.
then about 6 hours later we finally got to flinders street.
oh wait no we didnt. not yet. instead some lady i think was pretty drunk took out photo infront flinders. the arts centre sorta looks like the Eiffel tower.
we got closer to flinders.  flinders street station looks pretty sweet.
epic fail

no wait now we finally got to flinders street station.
 yeah.

we also finally bought our tickets to japan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
