High Fidelity

Ok, so currently i am what you may call a bum. or in a classier context 'in between jobs'. Today, after having spent the majority of my afternoon catching up with my old friend television, which included highlights of afternoon movie and watching, season 2 of Scrubs and the film High Fidelity.
However it was High Fidelity which gave me a wonderful idea. The idea  to compile my own top five lists. I know that before, i kind of already did have the compulsion to do top five lists, however i think i have been inspired to extend it. While i have mainly focused just on top 5 bands and stuff, be prepared! ( for when i can be fucked ), for me to start posting these lists more regularly.

Starting of with the basics.
Top 5 Bands
1. Beach Boys
2. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
3. The Strokes
4. The Things
5. The Rolling Stones.

Top 5 Albums
1. Decembers Children - Rolling Stones
2. Sounds of Summer-  The Beach Boys
3. Day Dream Nation- Sonic Youth
4. The Velvet Underground-  The Velvet Underground & Nico
5. Aha Shake Heartbreak- Kings of Leon

and seeing as it is Monday, and in relation to High Fidelity,

Top 5 Monday Morning Songs
Firstly, i am thinking- start of with something that isnt to fast or loud as it is monday and morning, but something to get you off on the right foot and say good morning. so what better than
1. Good Morning - Dandy Warhols
then i am thinking, as it is monday morning something to get me into a good mood. And possibly the one song that always does, goes to
2. Blister in the sun- Violet Femmes
just cos i love this song and it makes me happy
3. Love you -Syd Barett
a bit of Johnny cash could never go a stray.
4. Cocaine Blues - Johnny Cash
then finally top of with what else but ,
5. Blue Monday- New Order

Beat on the Street

Alas, the start of a new step in life and the end of another era. With graduation a loom and scoring my new job at hand, we decided to take it to the streets to celebrate. Rain, wind and a bit of sunshine, umbrellas jackets and hats : ). I am glad to finally have weekends, and most of all a carefree day. I think if i only had cigarettes goonjuice and some sweet tunes, i could stay happy forever.

these are the faces of meth. (note: we dont actually take meth)
goon juice representing.

while on our saturday afternoon walk, i decided i don't look up enough. Ah and wouldn't you have guessed, i found this bubble hole along burke street. provides for a loverly view of the tree and sky, apart from that i am not too sure what else the point to it really is. perhaps its for those times when you need questions answered.  you can look up and its like a mystical bubble. sort of like a magic 8 ball. In this mystical bubble it holds everything that you would ever need to know. You can always look up into the bubble and in it,  and questions are revealed.

We ended up down queen street way while on the way to the schwipe party. In a tiny street somewhere  we found this loverly house.

we found this sign and decided to follow it.

Although we never found it, we did find these amazing things on the walls.
Robots are fucking awesome.

As we were  in the neighborhood, we decided to visit the haunted car-park. Unfortunately instead we were greeted with nothing but ruble and cranes. Next door however the abandoned building of the old forensic centre still stands. We took a detour through into the victorian university law school, we found some stairs which took us pretty much on to the roof of the forensic centre.
Christmas sprit flooded  the streets.

p.s i have decided i have really really bad grammer.
but i have also realized i dont give a fuck.

After Hours

If you close the door

Leave the sunshine out

The place to be exists only in your head.

Now Millie has a love of all things 60's, but I on the other hand would consider myself more of an 80's child
And 80's band photos just make me go mmmm
Dime central

The Chameleons
And Also The Trees
Wire

Echo And The Bunnymen

And then I also seem to have an obscure love of 90's bands with creepy looking men

Pavement

Neutral Milk Hotel

Sebadoh
Built To Spill

Not quite as visually pleasing ha ha, but they certainly make some amazing tunes

Paper Sun

sitting back in my usual routine. late night, coffee and the only things keeping me company are the swaying riffs, beats and melodic tunes  which ring in my ears.
i must admit it was not till after i loaded these pictures, i found the connections in which these bands hold. yerp all from the 60's : ). I had come on with pretty much no intentions of posting. but as usual when i get onto google pictures i just cant help myself. perhaps look at it as a delve into my insomniac  nights. it makes me so at peace.
if i was not as shit, i would probably add links. but i am. so just take what i give you.

Psychedelic Renegades

amazing photos taken by photographer Mick Rock, of  ex pink floyd member and later solo musician who wrote awesome songs such as " Wouldn't You Miss Me ", Syd Barrett.

"We were psychedelic renegades exploring an inner landscape where everything was turned upside down. We had penetrated the looking glass and were living in a parallel dimension where everyone was beautiful and spiritually free." Mick Rock

-mills xxoo : )

no doubt about it
