Hannah's 21st

Tis the season of 21st'. Hannah had a lovely shindig at her house. Daylight savings tricked us all and we stayed there til after 3 in the morning with no clue what the time was. And Tori and Davs were down from Hamilton Island. We danced, and drank, and caught up with people from school I hadn't seen in yonks, and reminisced over embarrassing stories from our youth. Oh it was fun.

Oh I miss these guys muchly!

My mumma and I baked cupcakes for the occasion. I think they looked gorgeous (and tasted deliciousss) so therefore deserved to be blogged =)

'Dark Night of the Soul'

A genius collaboration between Danger Mouse, Sparklehorse, David Lynch and many guest singers inc. Julian Casablancas, James Mercer from The Shins, The Flaming Lips, Jason Lytle from Grandaddy, Iggy Pop, Frank Black from Pixies etc.

I've got my hands on the tunes, but I really wish I had scored a copy of the book with photos by David Lynch. Limited to 5000 copies. All sold out. Going for a couple hundred bucks on ebay. Damn. I may have to add it to my Christmas wishlist.

Warriors Dance Fest

The lineup: The Prodigy, MSTRKRFT, Hadouken!, autoKratz, South Central and Pendulum DJ's.

It got hectic. We got boozed and bruised, and built a fairly solid tower of plastic beer cups.

Kyoto

We stayed at the same hotel as Millie and I did last year, and in the morning we went for a stroll to the same shrine we went to last year.

But this time we discovered a gorgeous garden around the back of the shrine and spent a good few hours strolling around taking in the sun.

A day at Nara deer park

Osaka Sky Tower

We visited the Osaka Sky Tower and realised the view would be much more spectacular at sunset, so we kept ourselves occupied for hours drinking beers, eating hotdogs and watching a game of what looked like dodgeball (we were 173m above the city so it was hard to tell).

Daniel turned 21

And we celebrated in style of course. Us ladies wore dresses and heels and sipped on champagne, and the young men donned shirts and ties and smoked cigars for the occasion.

Did we let our fancy attire get in the way of us letting our hair down? Hells no! Speeches were misplaced and forgotten. The nutbush was performed in front of confused parental figures. Cigarettes ran out, and the cigarette vending machine refused to accept our shrapnel. Hugs and D&M's were in abundance. And we all had one thing in common... a love of our dear friend. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL!

Note to self : You are going to your house and then to pony. You are going to your house then to pony.
